Nathan Grove - Chemistry Professor
Associate Director

About Me:

Although I am new to the Grove Center and Penn State University, I have nearly 20 years of experience in higher education. Before joining Penn State, I spent 15 years as a member of the faculty at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) where I taught general chemistry, organic chemistry, and first-year seminar courses and conducted research in chemistry education. My research specifically seeks to understand the role that cognitive load plays in students’ learning of chemistry and uses physiological techniques such as heart rate to monitor changes in load during the learning process. I also served for almost a decade as director of UNCW’s Center for the Support of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships.
