Food For Thought is a regular get-together held throughout the fall and spring semesters, bringing together diverse members of our academic community to foster innovation and excellence in science education.

The Grove Center hosts workshops on research-based teaching practices. These workshops cover topics such as curricular design, student engagement, instructional teams, technology-enhanced learning, inclusive syllabi, and instructor reflection.

The Evidence-Based Teaching Academy (EBTA) is a weeklong workshop that fosters peer-to-peer learning, evidence-based practices, and practical application to educators within the Eberly College of Science. Participants collaborate with group mentors and each other to enhance teaching effectiveness and contribute to student success.

The Teaching Innovation Showcase, hosted annually by the Grove Center (and biennially with the Leonhard Center), celebrates innovative teaching practices. Faculty members share cutting-edge approaches to teaching and learning.

Welcome and Connect is a thoughtfully designed session to introduce new faculty members to the Eberly College of Science community and its teaching culture. It is a half-day interactive and informative session that combines presentations, activities, and networking opportunities.

The Grove Center’s educational communities of practice share the focus or domain of excellence in teaching and learning in STEM. The practice they are engaged in varies based on our educational community's interests. The communities of practice establish their own goals and schedule to fit the community members' needs.

The Grove Center hosts book clubs each semester to foster continuous learning, interdisciplinary collaboration, and intellectual curiosity among instructors, staff, and students, enhancing communication skills and broadening perspectives within and beyond the scientific community.
